Full Job Description

As an Events & Groups Manager, you will demonstrate an exceptionally strong focus and drive to deliver and exceed revenue objectives. Responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of regionally based Events & Groups team members. You will: effectively promote all our hotel's facilities and services to achieve the maximum sales revenue and client satisfaction for each event; ensure that each booking is handled efficiently from client enquiry through to post experience feedback; ensure all department standards are met including maintaining accurate status and administration of all bookings in our property management system (PMS) and communicate effectively with clients and Operational teams at each hotel ensuring the success of each event.

This role is one of 4 regional Managers, each based at our Event & Groups regional offices, Bath, Dundee & London. Alongside your peers, you will drive a strong one team culture and mentality, across the wider department

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the team proactively convert enquiries and sales opportunities.

  • Promote all of the Hotels and their facilities to achieve Events & Groups budgets for each hotel.

  • Ensuring the department produces high quality booking detail and admin, allowing our Operational based team to deliver excellence for our clients.

  • Working with the team to exceed department KPIs.

  • Ensure the team deliver a total sales approach with all clients and agents, by upselling, cross selling, and maximising revenue generation, together with creation of sales leads for Sales Team.

  • Deliver Revenue and Forecast reports on a weekly and monthly basis.

  • Taking responsibility for customer satisfaction, staff recruitment, training, monitoring staff performance and increasing sales.

  • Identify need periods in business when compared to budget, Propose and implement proactive actions to address this need.

  • Create and nurture innovation and change to ensure smooth running of department.

  • Ensure equitable division of departmental workload amongst team members.

  • Encourage and lead by example a strong one team culture across all regional Event & Group Teams

  • Previous Hotel Event and/or Group rooms manager or assistant manager related experience

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Track record of working to high standard/attention to detail

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Absolute attention to detail and flexibility are required in response to changing client requests

  • Excellent sales techniques in order to maximise sales revenue
