Full Job Description

  • A key member of the FM service delivery team at Glasgow supporting to achieve a high level of service for all our customers through a positive can do attitude and approach to team work. Customer Service is Key.


  • Completion of planned preventative maintenance and any reactive requests as well as any ad hoc requirements that you notice as you pro-actively walk the site each day.


  • Ensure the site is clean, safe, and secure and running at its best - if not what can you do about that?


  • To ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to


  • To be flexible and work with a 'can do' attitude at all times.


  • Main duties

  • Working at all times in accordance with relevant risk assessments and safe working methods, taking into account site hazards on the day, and using the appropriate PPE


  • Responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on fabric and building assets. Activities will include:- Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs, free standing and fitted furniture, clear drainage and gully systems, undertake monthly tap testing and weekly tap flushing, inspect/replace luminaries and inspect/repair doors, windows and associated furniture.


  • Work to keep the site tidy and clear, managing waste areas and external walkways.


  • Responsible for ensuring site waste segregation into the appropriate containers and assist with ad hoc waste collections from the site team as required.


  • Miscellaneous DIY / Handyman tasks - anything that you would like training for should be highlighted for consideration. Investigating and identifying faults, repair of fixtures and fittings, carrying out site checks, general property maintenance and overseeing Contractor Works where required.


  • Assisting with small move requests and assisting moves suppliers for larger projects.


  • Porterage & pick up / delivery requests


  • Monthly Tap Temperature Tests.


  • Weekly Low Usage Water Flushing.


  • Quarterly Tap / Shower Head Descaling.


  • Jet washing areas that need maintaining to keep clean - smoke shelter, bike sheds, signs for example


  • Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required - 2 man jobs, sharing advice, providing solutions


  • Take responsibility for paper / stationary delivery around the client buildings.


  • Building Fabric Upkeep - painting, making areas good if damaged or post take down of an item


  • Identify & report hazards & unsafe conditions


  • Understand and work within all H & S criteria and processes relevant to work activities - Safe systems of work / PPE/ COSHH/ Accident and incident reporting and show a proactive approach to H & S in the work environment taking necessary steps to ensure risks are mitigated


  • Ensure that service delivery meets the requirements of the SLAs as detailed in the main contract for all services.


  • Escort subcontractors providing support and guidance on all works


  • Proactive communication with management and customers to build strong trusting relationships


  • Assist in carrying out all customer requests ensuring the highest possible service delivery at all times


  • Ensure administration requirements for paperwork and PDA are actioned on time and all necessary documents/records are maintained accurately


  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you will be ask to complete any other duties which could be reasonably expected of you.

    Willing to learn and develop new skills, demonstrates a pro-active approach.


  • Good communicator (written, oral) in English and Computer literate


  • Time Management: Prioritise workload and work to deadlines. committed and punctual.


  • Keen eye for detail, practical, problem solver with a 'can do, will do, with pleasure' attitude.


  • Driving Licence.


  • Customer Focused with the ability to forge strong relationships with key customers


  • Smart, presentable & Punctual. Friendly & approachable.


  • Physically able to lift 25kg.
