Full Job Description

Working as part of a team within a fast-paced environment, your role as Finance Assistant will be to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial data. You will support the finance team in meeting deadlines for preparing financial returns/reports required by our funders and will assist with month end and year end processes such as prepayments, accruals, journals and audit preparations.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, energetic, well organised individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills. With superb attention to detail, you will work well under pressure and be able to deliver within agreed timescales., · Payroll processing & management, using SAGE 50 Payroll.

· Sales and purchase ledger functions.

· Credit control.

· Processing of VAT returns.

· Assist in the production of financial statements, reports and correspondence as required.

· Processing of accounting journals as required.

· Bank, Petty Cash and General account reconciliations.

· Assist in month end closing process.

· Assist to compile and produce financial year end data.

· Always deliver and maintain a quality service in line with RTWS Customer Service Standards Policy and Procedures.

· Carry out any other ad hoc duties in line with organisational requirements.

A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role

Experience of working in an employment related service industry

A relevant accounts qualification and/or actively studying towards an Accounts qualification

Evidence of continuing professional development

Proficient in the use of SAGE 50 Account and SAGE 50 Payroll software

Experience of Charity Accounting

Experience of preparing and submitting VAT returns.

Experience of compiling and Producing Financial Year End Data

Sound knowledge of accounting journal entries and posting of nominal account journals

Strong analytical and excel skills with the ability to manipulate data

Competent using Microsoft packages including Word and Outlook

Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines

Able to manage and plan a high-volume workload

Excellent written and oral communication skills and organisational skills

Target and performance driven to achieve KPI's
