Role Description


This role will suit someone looking for an all-round accounting experience. As the business is going through a period of expansion this role requires someone who is adaptable and used to working in a fast-paced environment, understanding the importance of meeting deadlines.


Key Responsibilities


  • Responsible for production of monthly divisional management accounts
  • Analysis of financial performance and provide commentary on variances to plan
  • Completion of month-end tasks in line with closing timetable
  • Preparation of month-end accruals and prepayments and similar accounting entries
  • Processing of daily sales / purchase invoices as required • Completion of daily bank reconciliations
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure all financial controls, systems and processes are implemented and maintained
  • Drive continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices
  • Liaising with external stakeholders: auditors, banks, suppliers and customers as required
  • Collate information for statutory audit and provide timely response to audit queries
  • Ad hoc project work as required
  • Working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts
  • Budgeting and forecasting as required
  • Integrating new acquisitions into the finance team / operations
  • Assisting with payroll, VAT and other HMRC processes as required 

What do I need?


  • Recently qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA). Qualified by experience may also be considered.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Excel and modelling
  • Ability to delegate and manage the work of others
  • Month end management accounts experience preferrable Confidentiality Level: PUBLIC
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office. Excel skills should include pivot tables, vlookups
  • Reliable, trustworthy, organised, and self-motivated with outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Resilience when working to required timetable deadlines
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is desirable but not essential
