Full Job Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a hugely successful growing global business to appoint a Financial Accountant. This role requires robust financial accounting, reporting and analysis set to bespoke client briefs and the confidence to review junior members' work.


This is an exciting time to join the team as it has doubled its headcount in the last two years and offers great benefits including study support, hybrid working (2 days in the office) and progression opportunities.


The ideal candidate would be someone newly qualified and likely from a small to medium-sized firm. Our client would be open to PQ finalists given they have the required experience and attitude.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate customised monthly / quarterly management reports based on client specifications
  • Provide tailored financial analysis reports as per client needs
  • Manage client relationships and escalations, ensuring timely delivery of all reports for the assigned client base
  • Prepare annual / interim financial statements, following IFRS and FRS 102 standards
  • Review financial statements prepared by team members
  • Support the team with financial analysis, intricate reporting, and involvement in acquisitions and disposals
  • Compile investor reports, VAT returns, and CIS returns
  • Conduct due diligence and NAV calculations for entity acquisitions and disposals
  • Attend client and internal meetings as required
  • Coach, develop, and oversee junior team members

Experience Required:

  • Preferably hold a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, ACCA, or CIMA); or in final stages
  • Experience in reviewing colleagues' reports is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Positive attitude and adaptable approach to work
  • Ability to remain composed and focused under pressure

Work Experience:

  • Independently managed workload allocation and planning
  • Background in a business environment emphasising adherence to procedures and controls
  • Experience in providing tailored client reports based on accounting data
