Financial Controller

iMultiply is supporting Gareloch Support Services (GSS) in their search for a Financial Controller to join their team based in Rosneath, Argyll and Bute. This role is offered on a full time permanent basis with a hybrid working model.

The Company

Founded in 1989, GSS utilise their fleet of Boats and expertise to support coastal work, bridge and marine work, piers and jetties, pipe and cable laying, welding and diving support and marine piling. GSS undertake both MOD and major civil contracts in, Britain, Europe and Internationally in locations such as the U.S., PNG, Angola and Australia. This activity has included a significant expansion into the renewable energy industry, particularly in construction support and, repair and maintenance of offshore windfarms.

The Role

GSS is seeking an experienced finance professional to join the business in this newly created Financial Controller position. Reporting to the MD you will head up the finance function during a wider 'levelling up' initiative across the business. You will be empowered and encouraged to improve and upskill the department to deliver improved commercial business partnering as well as core operational financial compliance.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant who is ambitious, driven and curious. You wont just take things at face value and be experienced at, even enjoy asking difficult questions and rooting out the truth behind the numbers. The ideal candidate will present with a strong technical and analytical skillset paired with good interpersonal skills with the ability to both develop direct reports and build strong working relationships with non finance stakeholders. These character traits will allow you to take advantage of the many and varied internal opportunities to gain exposure across the business and progress your career.

What’s on offer

Based out of their offices in Rosneath, Argyll and Bute, this role is offered with a competitive base salary of up to £65,000 depending on experience. This is a full time, permanent position with a hybrid working model offering the opportunity to work 2 days from home.

Furthermore, one of the GSS Non-Executive Directors is a highly experienced Finance Director who will be available to assist with coaching and guidance of the successful candidate.
