Full Job Description

You will have graduated in the last 18 months/2 years with a degree in Health Promotion, Health Design or equivalent, and will be keen to take on a role applying your degree knowledge and developing your skills and experience. You should have a knowledge and understanding of primary prevention and the public health approach. You will be able to interpret, analyse and present data to a variety of stakeholders.

DVVA and the Protecting People Strategic Support Team based within Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership are seeking a recent graduate to undertake this Trainee post supporting the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Dundee Alcohol and Drug Prevention Framework.

The Framework has been designed as a complement to ADP-level strategy development and action-planning. The core of the content is a series of Evidence Briefings across the lifespan, each providing a summary of current evidence of effective practice, packaged with appropriate literature review material. The evidence briefings are underpinned by 11 key themes that should be utilized and considered alongside the evidence briefings when monitoring or planning any services, interventions, or prevention activity.

There will be particular focus on developing resources and innovative ways to raise awareness of and embed the framework into local services and systems.

The post holder will be employed by Dundee Volunteer Voluntary Action and co-located to work as a member of the Protecting People Strategic Support Team (based within Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership), along with opportunities to work with and learn from NHS Tayside Public Health Partners.
