Job Title: General Foreman
Location: Northwest Scotland
Employment: Full-time, permanent

 

We are seeking an experienced General Foreman on behalf of our client, a leading Civil Engineering Contractor. The ideal candidate will have previous experience

managing and supervising construction activities at a specific project/site, ensuring that the work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards.

 

Our client operates across a wide range of projects within the Infrastructure, Energy, and Utilities sectors, and they are currently expanding their team. They seek a General Foreman to join them on a permanent basis in the Northwest of Scotland.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all site operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout.
  • Coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Maintain comprehensive site diaries and documentation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in pipeline operations, with marine experience being advantageous.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and quality procedures rigorously.
  • Proactively address challenges on site, providing effective solutions as needed.
  • Ensure projects are completed within designated timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Foster a culture of safety among on-site staff, subcontractors, and management.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in renewable energy projects is advantageous.
  • SSE and substation experience is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of managing all operational aspects of construction sites.
  • Prior experience in maintaining site diaries and documentation.
  • Marine experience is advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to implementing health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Previous employment with a civil engineering contractor is preferred.
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve on-site challenges.
  • Track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Passionate about cultivating a safe working environment on all projects.
  • Possession of a full UK driver's licence.
