Glasgow Life Assistant Technicians

As an Assistant Technician you'll assist the Venue Technical teams to deliver events and performances. Reporting to the Senior Technician and working alongside an established team.

• Demonstrable experience in a technical post in an arts and culture venue.


• Ability to operate sound, lighting and multimedia systems to facilitate events.


• Ability to set-up and take down events under instruction of the technicians.


• Rig and de-rig lights, sound and AV equipment pertaining to the function/event and ensure

it meets current quality standards.

• Ability to assist the technicians in the maintenance and upkeep of the technical facilities and Portable Appliance Testing.


• Ability to provide technical assistance to colleagues and clients to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Glasgow Life events and services, ensuring that tasks are completed to deadlines.


• Ability to work at heights.


• Ability to work as part of a team, to be proactive, assess work requirements and be able to use initiative.


• Proven ability to plan and schedule own time.


• Working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.


• Experience of Lifting and Handling and ability to assess equipment necessary and appropriate use.


• Experienced in the use of power and hand tools.


• Support and contribute Glasgow Life and external projects; initiatives and assignments as required.
