Full Job Description

We are looking for a graduate Environment and Consents Officer to support the acquisition, maintenance and streamlining of all statutory consents required at EMEC or other identified sites, and to deliver consenting and environmental technical expertise into EMEC projects.

You will assist in the maintenance of EMEC's site-wide consents to ensure they remain appropriate for site activities, supporting the identification and acquisition of consents to facilitate EMEC's projects, including emerging technology areas.

In addition, you will engage with stakeholders and maintain relationships, ensuring stakeholders are consulted on activities across EMEC's projects and support EMEC's clients in acquiring necessary consents and compliance thereafter. As part of the environment and consents team, you will assist with the development of the streamlined consenting procedure and implement efficiencies and improvements.

Educated to HND level or above in a relevant technical, business or science subject, preferably related to the environment, you will have well-developed critical, analytical and numerical skills and the ability to write for a variety of audiences. You will also be able to prioritise effectively, liaising with a variety of stakeholders and maintain positive working relationships.

Co-funded by Orkney Islands Council, this position is based in Orkney, and must be the applicant's first graduate level job, commencing within 2 years of graduation.
