The post

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to be the Head of Clinical Pharmacy. You will lead the engagement with the multidisciplinary team in the transformation of pharmacy services across the General Practice care setting. You will work at a senior level within the service which will significantly facilitate your growth in both the clinical and leadership aspect of this role. You will have previous experience of working within a General Practice, with evidence of multidisciplinary teamwork and well-developed communication and leadership skills.

The Team

The General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Team are highly qualified experts in medicines and can support patient centred care in a range of ways. This includes conducting and being accountable for comprehensive medication reviews for patients with ongoing health problems and improving patient safety, outcomes and value.

Training and support will be provided. A commitment to continuing professional development is essential. You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and possess a prescribing qualification or be prepared to work towards one.

Hours of work are: 37 hours. Part time hours are welcomed.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
