Head of Finance

Anderson Knight are representing our new client for the senior appointment of a Head of Finance based out of their manufacturing site in East Kilbride.

You will have responsibility for the full finance function ensuring budgeting, controlling and reporting into the group finance function. You will play a key role in identifying and driving change initiatives, constantly looking to drive innovation and process improvements.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Advise and challenge the business with timely and proactive analyses, assessment of variances vs budget-forecast with financial impacts and risks.
• Provide management information to other departments, informing on any unexpected issues impacting the financial performance of the site and proposing / implementing corrective actions.
• Lead and execute the site’s financial month-end and year-end closings (determining and analysing manufacturing variances).
• VAT submissions.
• Ensure preparation of Business unit annual accounts, incl. liaising with external auditing.
• Provide monthly financial reports to the site’s cost centre managers.
• Assess and manage the site’s financial performance.
• Prepare, lead and execute the site’s forecast and budgets. 
• Lead, motivate and develop staff, ensure optimal training across the team.
• Lead implementation of new reporting tools to ensure more timely, accurate and transparent reporting. 

Manufacturing experience including product costing is essential for this position and our client is ideally looking for someone with experience in SAP. The main candidate will have an analytical mindset and excellent communication skills with both senior management and junior non finance contacts.

Our client runs a matrix structure so you will need to be able to work in a decentralised finance structure.
