Full Job Description

Setting the standards required for the overall capital programme working with decentralised project service functions in Onshore and Offshore. This will include programme reporting and setting the associated standards across risk, schedule, change control, quality metrics, and cost. This will be done in collaboration but ultimate responsibility for the standards for the whole organisation will reside in the central Centre of Excellence for Large Capital Projects.

- This is a central role and is responsible for ensuring there is clear and consistent performance reporting including codifying the SSE Group Large Capital Projects (LCP) Governance Framework into Transmission specific requirements and standards.

- Ensuring ongoing compliance with the SSE plc LCP Major Projects Governance Framework including the effectiveness of Project Review Boards, interdependency across projects, and providing the overall programme reporting of the Transmission Capex Programme including operating as a key member of the Programme Delivery Sub-Committee.

- Leading the ongoing management systems and tooling for project services and project management including Integrated Project Management (IPM) tools, Primavera P6 and Document Control systems, and associated digital infrastructure.

- Overseeing and monitoring performance including interrogating information from projects throughout their lifecycle covering the development and delivery stages across schedule, cost, quality and risk.

- Establishing a hub of knowledge, expertise, and best practices within the project services and portfolio management capability and promoting collaboration, innovation, and standardisation across SSEN Transmission within this field.

- As a member of the Extended Leadership Team, youll support in developing strategy, setting targets and standards, and driving project performance across SSEN Transmission to ensure its future success., At SSEN Transmission we take immense pride in owning and operating the high-voltage electricity transmission network across the north of Scotland. Have experience of delivering large-scale projects and leading a Project Management Office function through delivery in a complex environment

- Be qualified to practitioner level (Prince II, PMP or equivalent) with a background of programme management or have sufficient practical experience to be considered an expert in this field.

- Have significant experience in matrix management and the influencing of resources inside and out with a line reporting relationship.

- Demonstrate experience and knowledge of key project processes, including status reporting, budgeting, and cost, risk management, planning, reporting, interface and dependency management, quality, gates and change management and controls.

- Be experienced in working in a high profile organisation with an understanding of the structure of risk management, reporting, and effective use of lessons learnt.

- Be confident interrogating, challenging, and supporting large capital projects covering project performance, progress and upholding the standards of the Transmission capital programme.

Base Location: Flexible Scotland | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base location to be one of our SSE offices in Scotland - Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Inverness.

Salary: £74,600 - £112,000 + car allowance + performance-related bonus and a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
