Head of Leisure and Communities

We are looking for an experienced Head of Service to help us on this journey. The successful postholder will oversee the commissioning and provision of leisure and community services across the Borough, with a focus on transforming these services to be self-funded. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a number of high profile projects, including community asset transfers and recommissioning our leisure contract.

We are looking for an inspiring leader with the vision, drive and innovation to transform services, the ability to enthuse and motivate people and the skills to work effectively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Council's Strategic Director - Communities, you will lead and effectively manage a small but diverse team overseeing a range of community-based services, as well as providing strategic oversight of the Council's Leisure Services contract. The ideal candidate will be commercially astute, customer-centred and solution-focused, as well as demonstrating extensive experience in delivering leisure and community services.
