Full Job Description

You will play a pivotal role in supporting HSE's upcoming priorities by ensuring we can meet the demands of the organisation whilst continually improving our approach to both Pay and Reward, Industrial and Employee Relations.

You will lead and direct HSE's overall relationship and engagement with HSE's recognised Trade Unions and advising and participating in trade union consultation and negotiations. By supporting, guiding, and advising our senior leaders on relationships and communications you will be helping to maintain a positive employee relations culture and strong working relationships with officials and representatives.

Additionally, you will take the overall lead on development, negotiation and implementation of HSE's Reward Strategy to ensure it supports business requirements; Managing all aspects related to our Pay and Reward approach. This includes pay related policies e.g. starting pay, and leading resolution of pay related questions.

In this role, you will be part of the HR Senior Leadership Team and will report to the HR Director.

Responsibilities;

  • Lead the Pay and Reward, Industrial and Employee Relations functions within HSE (approximately 10 staff)

  • Regularly advise HSE's Remuneration Committee and other governance forums as required

  • Ensure remuneration policies and procedures comply with guidance, relevant legislation and maximise positive impact on diversity, inclusion and wellbeing

  • Develop the range of non-pay benefits to enhance the employee value proposition and

  • Lead the provision of timely, high quality, legal advice in respect of all aspects of employee relations matters

  • Support Directors and SROs as required to help them meet their organisational objectives

  • Management of "Single Operating Platform" HR provision and Leadership of HSE Synergy Programme including managing the relationship with SSCL for provision of HR services
