We are embarking on the next phase of our ambitious transformation programme, maximising opportunities, and addressing the challenges which lie ahead of us.

We want to hear from a talented individual with strong leadership skills who has the vision and skills to become the Head of Service for Sustainability, Transport and Corporate Property.  The successful candidate will support the Executive Director and the Chief Executive to deliver the Council’s ambitions for North Ayrshire.

As a Chief Officer of the Council, the successful candidate will have a strategic leadership role supporting service transformation and delivering high quality, value for money services in a challenging financial climate.   

You will demonstrate extensive experience at a senior management level and have the ability to create inspiring and innovative solutions.

The post has a challenging and exciting remit with responsibility for a variety of areas such as Climate Change, Biodiversity, Net Zero ambitions, Fleet and Property Management & Investments.  This post will require to lead and deliver the Council’s Capital Investment programmes, therefore experience in the delivery of large scale projects would be beneficial.   Full information can be found in the Role Profile.

As a strategic and inspirational leader, you will deliver a clear sense of purpose and direction and will secure the confidence of Elected Members, the Council and your Teams.

You will be able to demonstrate experience in the implementation of change, excellent people management skills, effective partnership working, integrity and sound ethical judgement.
