Full Job Description

Playing an important and vital role within the Taymouth Castle project. The House Porter is a hugely varied and diverse role acting as a lynchpin in supporting the residential services team, making sure they have everything needed to carry out their daily duties. Ensuring everything is kept organised and stock levels are maintained throughout the castle and at various key facilities in the outlying areas of the estate. This role requires someone who is organised, is used to coordinating and takes pride in a job well done.

Discover Your New Path:

Acts as a support to colleagues within residential services by ensuring that all day-to-day requests are completed efficiently and effectively throughout all areas of the castle and suites, as well as members' homes situated at various locations throughout the estate. Efficiency in delivering set tasks to ensure everything is kept organised for the Housekeeping Assistants in readiness of members and their guests' departure days and the servicing days in between.

As part of this dedicated and hands-on team you will plan and prepare the departments equipment, cleaning products, supplies and linen. Collecting and unpacking store items while ensuring that all storerooms are kept clean, tidy and well organised.

Carry out a whole variety of requests from re-hooking and hanging curtains or transporting and assembling extra beds in castle suites or members' homes. When needed proactively helping to service suites and homes to make sure everything is ready and prepared in advance of an arrival or throughout a stay. Each area is maintained to the highest level ensuring our members; their families and friends have memorable stays time and time again.

Carry out scheduled high level cleaning, carpet and upholstery cleaning; reporting any maintenance issues or damage or maintenance defects you find in any areas of the castle or throughout the estate. Working closely with the facilities team ensuring that all communications are clear and logged allowing a complete update for the team on shift in the coming days.

Keeping our incredible facilities clean and tidy requires a one team approach. Supporting the department in consistently delivering an efficient and intuitive service, responding to members requests warmly and efficiently with a nothing is too much attitude.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, warm and friendly and enjoys being part of a team with a 'can-do' approach. Takes direction well and is open to seeking advice and support when needed with a desire to play a part in ensuring our members; their families and friends have memorable stays time and time again.

Previous luxury sector experience is not essential. We are at the start of a long and fascinating journey and as the club grows, so will you, learning new skills, taking on new roles and responsibilities.
