Full Job Description

Anderson Knight Recruitment have partnered with a Glasgow based client to recruit a HR Adviser for a full time, fixed term contract position. This is a 9 month contract, with the possibility of extension or being made permanent, the role will be office based, 5 days per week in Glasgow.


In this position you will form part of a wider team, working closely with Recruitment, L&D, H&S and Senior Management to ensure policies and procedures are followed in line with HR Best practice across the business. This is a busy role and would suit someone who thrives in a fast paced environment and has proven experience of managing a high volume ER caseload.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


  • Lead disciplinary, grievance, and absence procedures, ensuring procedural fairness and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Provide comprehensive advice and support to line managers and employees on all aspects of employee relations, ensuring alignment with both employment law and company policies.
  • Coach and guide Managers on effectively addressing HR issues, fostering a culture of fair and consistent treatment of employees.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of employment legislations, particularly in areas such as contracts, terms and conditions, discrimination, maternity/paternity, dismissal processes, and grievances.
  • Deal with case management issues promptly and in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation and update procedures, policies, and the Employee Handbook to reflect best practices.
  • Collaborate with the L&D team to deliver workshops and to the wider business, enhancing HR knowledge and capability across the organisation.
  • Data management and analysis, including absence data, trends, Bradford Factor, attrition, and headcount reports, to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in conducting exit interviews, highlighting trends and providing insights to enhance employee engagement and retention strategies.

Role Criteria


  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced HR environment with a focus on employee relations casework.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and regulations, with the ability to apply them in practical situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
