Full Job Description

Anderson Knight Recruitment are seeking a dedicated HR Advisor to join our clients team. In this role, you'll provide assistance and support to colleagues across all HR-related matters. Collaborating closely with relevant teams, you'll ensure that services are delivered to the highest standards of quality and compliance, aligning with the clients policies, guidelines, values, employment laws, and best practices in HR.


This position is based in Glasgow, our client operates flexi-time and supports hybrid working, with 2 days per week spent in the office allowing you to work from home 3 days per week.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to achieving HR objectives outlined in the HR Strategy and Strategic Plan.
  • Foster a performance management culture by supporting colleague development, providing guidance on capability-related casework, and advising colleagues and leaders on relevant policies.
  • Design and deliver HR coaching workshops to ensure consistent service and delivery of policies and guidelines.
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, establishing professional credibility.
  • Actively support projects and facilitate the transfer of best practices across teams.
  • Identify disparities and implement necessary changes to mitigate business risks.
  • Provide dedicated HR advisory services on attendance, colleague well-being, conduct, capability, grievances, and organisational change.
  • Offer information and advice on casework related to sickness absence, including recommendations and liaising with Occupational Health.
  • Produce comprehensive reports and provide advice to ensure informed decision-making regarding attendance and performance management.
  • Operate within a business partner model to deliver a 'fit for purpose' HR service, as measured by KPIs.
  • Support the HR Lead in providing excellent customer service through day-to-day HR operations.
  • Facilitate internal restructures and consultation processes.
  • Advise on TUPE matters to ensure diligence and adherence to process timescales.
  • Maintain harmonious employee relations through effective communication channels.
  • Address HR issues and changes, ensuring positive outcomes and consistency in decision-making.
  • Continually improve the quality of HR service through innovative recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Participate in the creation, implementation, review, and evaluation of HR policies and guidelines in line with employment legislation and organisational objectives.
  • Collaborate with line managers to make timely decisions on people issues, ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation and HR best practices.

Role Criteria


  • Proven experience working in a generalist role within a fast paced environment
  • Competent in managing a high volume ER caseload
  • Proven history of addressing complex business challenges through the application of effective HR methodologies.
  • Proficient in analysing and interpreting statistical data.
  • Capacity to independently initiate and execute tasks with a creative and innovative approach.
  • Strong ability to foster productive working relationships.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Excellent skills in planning, organising, and managing time effectively.
