Full Job Description

We are currently looking for an HR Executive to join our strategic and dynamic HR team. The role will involve providing professional and operational HR services to a number of legal and business support teams across the business.

As part of their role, the successful candidate will assist the Learning and Development team in graduate recruitment initiatives and work with the Diversity & Inclusion Manager to lead the firm's Gender Focus and Wellbeing network groups.

Ideally the successful candidate will have experience of working in a fast paced environment on a range of HR matters including recruitment, employee relations and employee reward.
The role

Main Duties

  • To manage all recruitment and selection activities across specific teams/sites;

  • To generate and issue contracts of employment for employees;

  • To manage disciplinary, capability and grievance processes, advising managers on statutory points and drafting all associated documentation in relation to any processes;

  • To manage maternity leave arrangements and flexible working requests and to draft all documentation in relation to these;

  • To promote effective communication between parties and all employees within the firm;

  • To mediate disputes between managers and employees;

  • To assist the Senior D+I Executive with project work within the firm specifically in relation to the the Gender Focus Group and S+W Wellbeing;

  • To participate in the firm's summer placement process;

  • To participate in the firm's graduate recruitment process;

  • To attend recruitment fairs as appropriate;

  • To manage the firmwide mentoring initiative;

  • To participate in induction processes as appropriate;

  • To provide backup cover for divisional statistical requirements for e.g. tenders, press releases etc.;

  • To assist with the firm's annual salary review process;

  • To generate payroll documentation for employees;

  • To manage the firm's absence management procedures;

  • To undertake exit interviews and use the information gained through this process to effect appropriate change;

  • To work with the L&D team to develop and administer appropriate training programmes;

  • To develop policies in line with the legislative and organisation requirements;

  • To review policies for the HR team regularly and update as required;

    A minimum of four years' experience in a similar role is essential;

  • Experience within the professional services industry is desirable;

  • It is essential that you have exposure to working with a busy team and dealing with conflicting priorities;

  • An ability to use your own initiative to resolve problems is fundamental;

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential;

  • Preferably degree educated in a relevant discipline or, you will have gained the CIPD level 5 qualification, however full CIPD qualification to level 7 is desirable;

  • Previous work experience dealing with performance management is highly desirable.
