Full Job Description

Applications for this post will only be accepted from current employees of West Lothian Council (this includes casual and agency staff who are currently undertaking work for us)

This post was created as part of an organisational change process and will be based in a new corporate Business Support Service, where the successful candidate will be working across all council services, maximising council effectiveness through analytics, learning and improvement.

You will be part of the corporate Performance Team that will deliver performance management, improvement and information assurance support to council services. This will include provision of proactive advice that will help council services to improve performance and increase compliance with regulatory performance requirements and corporate policies and procedures.

You will support the delivery of programmes of self-evaluation and external assessment in the council that will help to improve the performance and quality of council services and ensure that there are effective scrutiny processes in place to secure continuous improvement.

You will have experience of working in a performance or quality improvement capacity, including working with services to review their business processes and improve performance through data, analysis and learning.

You will also work with services, managers, head teachers and chief officers to develop essential and value-adding management information and performance reports, including support for benchmarking and target setting and the implementation of monitoring arrangements.

This permanent role represents an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated individual. With a professional manner and excellent communication skills, you should be able to work to deadlines and possess a sound knowledge of quality and performance methodologies.
