Full Job Description

To establish performance standards and maintain operational efficiency in manufacturing and support processes. Provide to manufacturing the plan for optimum use of resources, compile and analyse performance data, and coordinate improvements.,

  • Devise methods to eliminate wasted time, energy, money, materials, and other commodities during production processes.

  • Produce digital simulations to facilitate modelling of product lines, digitally validate proposed improvements and relevant rate scenarios.

  • Perform engineering studies to determine areas for improvement analyse existing manufacturing processes & improve process reliability, product quality & reduce cost.

  • Be an effective communicator, creating documentation, plans, business cases and presentations. Develop communication strategies and articulate your case to influence the business leaders.

  • Engage peers to develop new standards for production.

  • Develop and provide time performance standards to the shop floor.

  • Design and develop standardized work operations and processes.

  • Responsible for analysing processes, determining areas for improvement, communicating effectively, creating documentation and implementing required training.

  • Identify facility improvements to increase utilisation and improve efficiency.

  • Perform capacity and rate studies to remove bottlenecks and increase throughput.

  • Identify and deploy information systems that can reduce manual effort and improve accuracy of reporting for operational management.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualified in engineering or a related field, or at least 5 years experience as an industrial engineer.

  • Qualifications relating to the application of continuous improvement techniques such as six sigma.

  • A thorough understanding of theories and methods applicable to industrial engineering is required.

  • Proficient in relevant IT applications and software packages.

  • Decision Making Authority
  • Performs own work using prescribed tools and methods & ensures delivery to required timescales.

  • Guidance will be provided by senior staff or manager.

    37 hour working week (half day Friday)
