Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. 

The shift pattern is Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, to join our Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Team currently based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary with a remit for Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Princess Royal Maternity, Lightburn Hospital, Glasgow Dental Hospital and Cowlairs Central Decontamination Unit, but will also be required to work with other IPCTs within NHSGGC. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse and Lead Nurse to assist with the delivery of the sector IPC service on all matters relating to the prevention and control of infection by providing strategic direction and advice to NHSGGC. This requires the post holder to have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team in challenging healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence relevant training, education and experience. They will be educated to and/or operate at Degree Level and willing to undertake a Post Graduate qualification in Infection Prevention & Control.
