We are looking for an experienced and dedicated professional and highly motivated individual to join a well-regarded team responsible for providing a comprehensive, efficient and effective internal audit service across the Council.

As an Internal Auditor you will play a critical role in helping the Council achieve its objectives by providing assurance that the framework of governance, risk management and control is effective and aligned with the Council’s newly refreshed Programme of Work and The Plan for North Lanarkshire.

Working a hybrid model of home-working and office-based within Civic Centre, Motherwell, you will be a confident, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual with a positive disposition. As an important member of the team, you will have direct responsibility for a varied programme of audit work. Educated to degree or equivalent level, you should have a good understanding of key technical skills, be able to demonstrate the ability to complete tasks and deliver quality outputs to prescribed deadlines and have well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal. Evidence of developing and maintaining constructive working relationships is desirable and ideally you should be able to demonstrate experience of conducting interviews, dealing with sensitive situations and handling confidential information.

The job description provides an overview of the generic duties required and the specific tasks that would be undertaken within each team. If you would like to discuss the various opportunities available, please contact Paula Hendry, Audit Manager at hendryp@northlan.gov.uk in the first instance.
