Full Job Description

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology for Enterprise Technology business, you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.,

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture

  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies

  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

  • Leads a small team (~5-7 engineers) engineers and able to provide required team leadership .

    Significant experience within Development, Design of technology solutions.

  • Proficient in coding in Java 11/17+ development experience building microservices using Spring boot 1.5 and above using design patterns SOLID principles and clean code best practices.

  • Knowledge of the RESTful Services and of JPA and Hibernate ORM framework is a must

  • Well versed with build, test and automation tools in the context of Java Server side Development. Scripting with Unix Shell and exposure to logging and tracing solutions e.g. Splunk, Dynatrace etc.

  • Proficiency in solutioning robust , secure and scalable applications using domain driven designs

  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, expert understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

  • Leads internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented evaluations of architectural designs, technical implementation, and ability to challenge inefficiencies within existing systems and information architecture

  • Working knowledge of Database (relational) preferably Oracle DB and entity Modelling is a must.

  • Support communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.


  • Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Ideal to have experience in AWS Cloud Architecture and Development; Cloud Native Design patterns; Migration Patterns; AWS networking; AWS Security; Microservices pattern (ECS, EKS) , RDS/postgres

  • Good to have prior exposure of Operational Risk and Control function within a financial services firm.

  • No-Sql Database knowledge

  • Prior exposure for AI/ML
