Job Ref JB ED, Part-Time Personal Assistant / Driver Required

Our son, a young disabled Man, is looking to recruit a personal assistant/driver to support him to get out and about. He loves being out and about, especially the cinema! Marvel and animated films are his favourites as are the associated DVDs. He enjoys word play, slapstick and having a great laugh!
He uses an iPad with a communication app to communicate. Singing along to The Lion King in the car is highly desirable!!

Experience of working in social care is preferable as is an understanding of cerebral palsy and/or autism. Driving an electric wheelchair also preferable but full training will be given.
You must have a clean driving license and the confidence to drive a wheelchair adapted van.

Pickup and drop off would be in Comiston, EH10, where there is on street parking if required, but is close to the no 11, 15, 16 and 5 bus routes.

The post is five to ten hours per week with a shift on Thursday 1230 to 1730 and/or a weekend shift 1230 to 1730. These hours are flexible and may be shorter or longer, depending on the activity.
