Full Job Description

· Delivery of ongoing effective employability support and vocational training programmes to a wide range of client/customer groups in designated areas of Dumfries & Galloway.

· Working closely with managers and colleagues to ensure excellent customer service/best practice in the delivery of employability support services, training programmes and courses.

· Work with and liaise alongside other Employability support teams and agencies in the area to provide an integrated support, advice, and guidance service to a diverse range of client groups and to match clients to employment opportunities.

· Provide job search skills, guidance, and support for client/customers either in one-to-one or group sessions and maintain knowledge of up to date, accurate information on training, education, and employment opportunities.

· Manage and maintain own caseload of clients, support and motivate clients to achieve their potential; and look for opportunities to match clients to opportunities both proactively and as they arise.

· Have a flexible manner and be able to work between the two different strands of the role of both Key Worker and Trainer.

· Participate in the development of training materials for delivery of training/programmes and research new programmes from identified needs.

· Update and maintain client information to enable the monitoring of impacts and outcomes and evaluate the services delivered to clients. This includes proper registration right through to monitoring and aftercare of clients who have progressed through any programmes to positive outcomes.

· Network with partner organisations to develop and improve services and opportunities offered to clients and maintain a proactive approach in contributing positively to the services' ongoing development.

· Promote and market the services of the project to client group and partner organisations.

· Appropriate training qualification and/or relevant experience in delivery of Employability and/or Vocational training (Essential)

· Experience of individual guidance and counselling (Essential)

· Experience of developing training materials and planning training delivery (Preferred)

· Excellent written and oral communication skills (Essential)

· Flexible and enthusiastic approach (Essential)

· Ability to relate to clients/customers at all levels and have a non-judgemental, client centred approach (Essential)

· Organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages, relevant to personal workload (Essential)

· Ability to work as integral team member and on own initiative (Essential)

· Awareness of issues or barriers faced by those entering the job market (Essential)

· Due to potential wide delivery area, driving Licence and own transport would be required (Essential)

· Driving License & own transport essential for this role
