Full Job Description

Advance your career in Applied Psychology in Aberdeenshire

We wish to appoint to this permanent full time post which offers the opportunity to advance your career in an area of outstanding natural beauty: close to the Cairngorms this lovely granite city is set on stunning coastline populated by dolphins. For those with family Aberdeen boasts some of the best schools in Scotland, whilst the local economy provides a range of job opportunities for partners. The area also offers a chance to pursue any of a wide range of outdoor activities and sports whilst also boasting a city with the best in restaurants, diverse music venues and theatre productions.

Aberdeen is situated in the North East of Scotland but with an easily accessible airport just fifteen minutes from the city centre it is no problem to stay connected to the whole of the UK and beyond.  For example, fly to London in just over an hour at reasonable prices.

NHS Grampian therefore offers fantastic opportunities to advance your career as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist working with adults presenting with moderate-severe mental health problems.

Interview expenses are available to all candidates and an attractive relocation allowance of up to £8000 may available to successful candidates.

This appointment will be on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) but part time candidates are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will contribute to the provision of general adult psychology services in a secondary care setting.

There are good opportunities to become involved in teaching and research activities via well established links with Aberdeen University Departments of Mental Health, Psychology, and General Practice and Primary Care. There will be an opportunity to offer clinical placements for trainees undertaking doctoral training on the University of Edinburgh/NHS Scotland Clinical Psychology Training Programme.

Interviews will take place on the 22nd of May 2024
