Full Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Accountant to join our growing Finance team in EMEA. This is a newly created role, due to the rapid growth of Dexcom in existing and new regions in EMEA which includes EMEA's first manufacturing plant in Athenry, Ireland.

The purpose of this role is to promote the quality and integrity of the accounting output by effectively supporting all aspects of the group's accounting processes.

This includes implementation of a new accounting ERP; timely month end reporting; maintaining and proposing policies and controls; continually seeking mechanisms to streamline and automate processes; and building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.,

  • Lead monthly closing of financial records across multiple companies, offices and systems ensuring reporting is well-coordinated, timely and accurate.

  • Own CAPEX accounting for new manufacturing site.

  • Collaborate with cost accounting and IT to develop and implement future systems and processes to support EMEA manufacturing.

  • Key accounting business partner on revenue of > USD 700m per annum to assist senior management in monitoring markets and making future business decisions.

  • Lead internal and external audits for both group and local statutory purposes.

  • Drive the implementation and maintenance of systems and policies and procedures, to ensure adherence to company guidelines and proper internal controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and other relevant regulations.

  • Assist in training and development of junior members of staff.

  • Provides timely accounting and analytical assistance to finance and other company personnel and respond to financial questions to meet business needs.

  • Support and engage in special projects and or accounting related research as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Fluency in English, both written and oral communication.

  • Post Qualified Accountant with recognized Professional Body, with hands-on experience

  • Experience with working with different currencies and jurisdictions.

  • Experience of US GAAP and/or IFRS reporting.

  • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills including advanced excel skills.

  • Oracle or other major ERP system experience.

  • Public company and SOX experience
