Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern is, Monday to Friday.

This is a key nursing role within Clyde Sector. We are looking for you to be a dynamic individual with a proven track record of service improvement and change management.  You will be able to demonstrate substantial experience of Leadership and Management. 

The Lead Nurse for Older People and Stroke Services (OPSS) is responsible for inpatient wards at Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH) and you will effectively manage and lead on the safety, quality and professional standards for OPSS wards. 

You are also responsible for a variety of Clinical Nurse Specialists for the above services and also professionally lead our Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners. 

You will be pivotal in ensuring excellent Clinical and Financial Governance, and report directly to the Clinical Services Manager (CSM), but report professionally to the Chief Nurse for Clyde sector.
