Full Job Description

We are the Third Sector Interface for Dumfries and Galloway. We work alongside the sector, partners and communities to address key local priorities, build capacity and maximise investment in our region. As part of the national network of Third Sector Interfaces across Scotland, our joint manifesto sets out commitments to enhancing and developing the role of the third sector as a key partner; a focus on place, community and locality; volunteering and the strengths of local people and communities; a fairer and wellbeing-focussed economy. We re now looking for an experienced leader in the third sector to join us as we shape our new strategy and recommit to supporting a strong third sector across Dumfries and Galloway. As the Lead for Communities and Sector Support, you will lead a team of development officers, support officers and coordinators whose roles include building sector capacity, collaboration, leadership, good governance, sustainability, planning and volunteering. You will lead the development of Locality Hubs as part of the Community Planning Partnership and work with partners in the local authority, NHS and others on priorities such as Place Planning and Safer Communities. As a member of our Lead Officer Group, you will also have active participation in wider organisational planning and delivery to ensure progress towards our medium-term outcomes. To be successful, you ll join us with experience in a programme or leadership role within the third sector and bring a strong understanding of challenges and opportunities facing the sector in Scotland. You will be a compassionate and supportive leader with a commitment to excellence and improvement, someone who values the capacity of people to make change.
