Dandara Living is recruiting a Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Point. The Point is a collection of apartments available to rent in the centre of Aberdeen. The development has shared spaces for everyone to use including a lounge, a gym and co-working space.


Working Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 5:00pm

About the role


We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to carry out planned, statutory and reactive maintenance at The Point build-to-rent operations. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician who excels in customer service and overall building maintenance experience. This role will allow someone to set the standard for how the maintenance and support offering is delivered across our pipeline of Build-to-Rent homes and communities.


What you will do as our Maintenance Technician

  • Complete planned maintenance, keeping accurate records
  • Complete statutory maintenance, keeping accurate records
  • Complete reactive maintenance, keeping accurate records
  • Complete all maintenance from mid-term and end-of-tenancy inspections
  • Carry out Portable Appliance Testing
  • Maintaining the communal gardens and pathways in and around the scheme
  • Cover another shift pattern with the team as and when required
  • From time to time, undertake inspections of the apartments as required
  • Support residents with any queries
  • Undertake daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly inspections of the building
  • Health & Safety compliance - to include regular system testing
  • Ensure the security of the building is always maintained
  • Undertake and record all safety checks
  • Respond to out-of-hours emergencies as required
  • Undertake other duties from time to time as required
  • Ensure building is a safe environment in which to live and work and that it is managed by procedures
  • Ensure communal areas, such as bin stores, car parks, and cycle stores, are maintained and well-kept

What you will have:

With a minimum of 2 years’ experience and a proven track record in residential repair and refurbishment, building maintenance and statutory compliance.

You have demonstrable working knowledge of H&S legislation and requirements, particularly concerning COSHH and risk assessments, and always lead by example in ensuring safe working practices.

In this role, you will often be the first point of contact for residents reporting maintenance issues, so you will have a strong focus on customer service and the ability to remain calm under pressure and manage customer expectations.
