Due to business growth, we are now recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Manager to join our Operations team.

 

You will drive development and improvement of products and processes to improve efficiency across the plant, resulting in reduced scrap, improved lead times and increasing productivity across all manufacturing processes.

 

Hours of work are Monday-Wednesday, 7am-6pm and Thursday, 7am-5.30pm and the salary is up to £55k DOE.

The main duties of the role are:

  • To develop and implement an improvement strategy, focusing on manufacturing processes and procedures to optimise production efficiency, quality and safety.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste and improve overall performance.
  • Lead and manage the Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Team by providing guidance, mentoring and training to ensure the team’s success and growth.
  • Manage new product projects right through to production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production and quality assurance to develop and implement new products and processes.  
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source and evaluate new technologies, materials and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshooting problems and optimise production output.
  • Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards.
  • Keep accurate documentation, perform statistical analysis, and develop a set of KPI’s.

 

To be effective in this role, you will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related subject.
  • Be an experienced people manager, ideally with 5+ years’ experience.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and project management.
  • Have familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.

 

Previous experience/knowledge in the automotive industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
