Full Job Description

Manufacturing Inspector : Utilizing top end, latest inspection technology to ensure work is completed to client specifications,

  • Responsible for the checking of any machined parts and the recording of these results in appropriate excel spreadsheets

  • Compile CNC programs for Vision Measuring System (QV) and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for a wide range of single components, sub-assemblies and assemblies

  • Design inspection fixtures suited to our product line in order to streamline the inspection process

  • Provide constant feedback to supervisor on dimensional variation between sequential components enabling sister tooling to be accurately assigned

  • Bolt on with CNC machinists during any downtime in order to gain knowledge of CNC machinery operation and eventually operate machinery during busy periods

  • Ensure that QA Cards and other associated paperwork are correctly completed

  • Report any discrepancies / deviations from sizes / features on drawing to Supervisor

  • Ensure that all measuring equipment / machinery is within calibration date

  • Assist with component cleaning pre and post inspection

  • Carry out spot checks on machine at regular intervals and ensure that machinists are monitoring tool life

  • Carry out weekly checks on Machines and report any faults found immediately

  • Liaise with Manufacturing TL & DTL, regarding prioritisation of parts to be inspected

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions

    This is a great opportunity for someone who has good experience working in a machining or manufacturing environment to further develop their skills., Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent)

  • Mechanical SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)


  • Experience
  • Be fully competent to carry out Machine Shop Inspection tasks

  • Previous experience in machining (Desirable but not essential)

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages is essential

  • Understanding of technical drawings - advantageous

  • Previous Quality Control Inspection experience (Desirable but not essential)

  • Have had previous experience or working knowledge with CMM or other similar equipment
