Full Job Description

The Newspaper Sales and Marketing team are responsible for Home News Delivery (HND), Retail Sales, Customer Care, Sales Reporting, In-Paper Marketing and anything that can drive a sale across our five titles. Our highly capable team work closely with Editorial, Production, Commercial, and Radio to ensure that all tasks and campaigns are delivered to the highest standards.

The team is at the heart of the DC Thomson Print business and is responsible for a large amount of income to the company.

Please note this post is a hybrid role to be based out of our Aberdeen, Dundee, or Inverness offices.

As Marketing and Newspaper Sales Administrator you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Marketing team to ensure all aspects of campaigns are fulfilled. This includes but is not limited to planning, placement, winner support, record keeping, and administrative tasks related to Marketing campaigns.

  • Contributing to the planning and preparation of newspaper, social media, and website adverts in collaboration with the Editorial Design team, ensuring they meet the high standards set.

  • Contributing to external client competition and reader offer opportunities.

  • Responsible for maintaining effective communication with other departments to ensure campaigns have full support and reach the maximum possible audience.

  • Collaborating with the wider team to ensure departmental goals.

  • Responsible for other ad-hoc administration duties across the Newspaper Sales and Marketing Department.

    Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills with demonstrable evidence of working to tight deadlines.

  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively in equal measure.


  • The candidate will require to have experience in using Microsoft Office programmes such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

    This is a part-time position, working 28 hours per week from our Aberdeen, Dundee, or Inverness Offices.
