Full Job Description

The role involves the maintenance of a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant for both Tayside Contracts and our external customers.

You will have served a recognised and relevant apprenticeship and hold a relevant City & Guilds 381, parts 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent SVQ qualification.

A current driving licence, Category B, is essential and Category C1, C or C+E is desirable but training to get to this level will be provided.

  • We will accept applications from individuals who do not have a Cat C, however, as it is an essential requirement for the role, if you are successful, we will arrange and pay for you to obtain Cat C entitlement. Repayment terms apply should you leave employment within 24 months of obtaining Cat C entitlement.

  • · Tool allowance - £15.75 per week.

    · Standby Payment - £142.59 per week when on standby (it is a contractual requirement that mechanics participate on a stand-by rota).

    · 33 days annual leave including 5 fixed public holidays rising to 38 days after 5 years' service.

    Working Pattern

    You will be required to work 37 hours per week across 5 shifts on weekly rotation. Early shift - working from 06.00-14.00 Monday to Thursday and 06.00-13.30 Friday, Late shift- working from 11.30 to 20.00 Monday to Thursday and 11.00 to 16.30 Friday.
