Mechanical Engineer

A vacancy has arisen for a Time served Mechanical engineer within our clients busy production site in North Ayrshire.

The main purpose of the this role is to repair and maintain equipment to ensure all equipment meets production requirements.

The role will cover 37 hours over 5 days, Monday - Friday. However flexibility will be needed to cover busy times (appropriate payment will be made to cover extra time).

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify damage to production equipment and repair using spray welding equipment techniques and procedures.
• Modify equipment to meet and maintain quality standards.
• Perform lathe work on equipment using standard and CNC lathes to ensure equipment meets specification.
• Carry out milling, drilling and grinding on equipment to ensure specifications are met.

Required Skills:

• Time served Mechanical Engineer with CNC experience.
• Excellent observation and analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Understand drawings related to equipment.
• A good understanding of lean six sigma tools and continuous improvements.
• Awareness of relevant Health & Safety and Hygiene regulations.
