Full Job Description

The shift pattern is 0800-1600, 0900-1700. 0800-2000. Plus on call rota.

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

This post is for a Band 5/6 rotational midwife. It is a rotational post involving working throughout all maternity departments within the Vale of Leven Maternity Unit with working hours 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm, and 8 to 8pm. There is also an on-all from 8pm until 8am. 

The post holder are to support the Senior Charge Midwife and midwives in all maternity departments within the Vale of Leven, in the delivery of safe and effective standards of care. These are within day care, early pregnancy, consultant antenatal clinics, midwives clinics, and care within the birthing unit.  

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and person- focused midwife who wishes to rise to the challenge of providing safe and effective continuity of carer to a defined caseload of women.

The Vale of Leven Community Maternity Unit is a stand-alone unit.

You will be expected to contribute to the on-call service, providing local intrapartum care, and therefore need to be a car driver and live within 50 minutes travelling time of the unit.

You must be a practicing midwife on the NMC register.
