An opportunity has arisen for a Casual Mobile Warden working within the Mobile Emergency Care Service.

You will be involved in responding to emergency requests for assistance from service users within their own homes.  You must be an experienced social service worker with commitment, patience and an understanding of ageing and disability and their effect on people’s lives. You must be able to work under pressure and deal confidently, calmly, and sensitively with difficult situations. You must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internal and external, and in addition, have excellent team working and written skills.

The post will involve responding to emergency situations and will include falls, personal care etc. as well as routine installation and de-installation of equipment to service users throughout the Falkirk Council area. Training will be provided, both formal and informal, to facilitate the delivery of the MECS service

This post is to provide cover for staff on annual leave and other absences over a variety of shifts, i.e., early, back and night shifts.  There are a variety of shift lengths available.

Applications are being sought from individuals who have both the capacity to work without constant supervision and are effective team players.  The ability to make effective decisions under pressure is an integral feature of this post.

Whilst previous experience of delivering personal care services is desirable, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about people and maybe looking to change career.

Please indicate on your application form what skills you feel would be transferrable to a role within this service.  Full training will be given in Moving and Handling and the use of hoists as well as all aspects of personal care.

A full driving licence is an essential requirement for this post.

A first aid certificate, Extended personal care training and an SVQ level 2 in care would be a distinct advantage.

You will require to be registered with SSSC within 6 months of your employment.  You must have, or be willing to work towards, an appropriate qualification to facilitate full registration with SSSC

All posts involve lone working.
