Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

NHSGGC North East Radiology is currently inviting applicants for an MRI Lead Radiographer based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary with a rotation to other sites within the sector when required.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead MRI Imaging Services. The successful candidate will work closely with the local management team to develop and deliver a quality patient focused service. Education and training are key elements of the department and the successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills to help deliver these.

You will be key to leading on the development and implementation of clinical and professional standards, whilst being passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The role will allow the successful candidate to build and extend their clinical expertise whilst also developing their management and leadership skills.

You will be responsible for day to day management of the MRI department, whilst acting as professional lead for the modality. Additional delegated management duties will also be required as we develop our wider Modality Lead team to support our staff and services.

You will be expected to work collaboratively with the local university to provide an innovative learning environment for all undergraduate and post graduate students on placement whilst having a commitment to supporting and developing our own staff.

We currently have 3 MRI scanners within the North East sector and this role will be fundamental in helping develop the service further.

Successful candidates will benefit from a structured training and induction programme.

Informal enquires to Site Superintendents. Liam Weir (Liam.Weir@ggc.scot.nhs.uk) or Lorraine Bell (Lorraine.Bell@ggc.scot.nhs.uk).
