Network and Systems Administrator

FinTech RS is working with a global, energy service company who are looking to add an IT Engineer to their technical team based in Aberdeen. Working within a small IT team this role will have a mixed focus of networking and server management.

Candidates will ideally have a skillset and background covering both Networking and Servers.

This role will be responsible for:

·       Plan, design, and implement network and server infrastructure solutions.

·       Monitor and maintain network and server performance, ensuring high availability and security.

·       Troubleshoot and resolve network and server-related issues in a timely manner.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient operation of systems.

·       Implement security best practices and protocols to safeguard our network and data.

·       Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.

·       Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements.

·       Document network and server configurations and changes.

Candidates will ideally have exposure in most of the below:

• Proven experience as a Networking and Server Engineer or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
• Proficiency with server hardware and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong experience with Cisco.
