Full Job Description

As a Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role working with a team of Technicians who take pride in the operation and maintenance of the SSE Renewables fleet.

Utilising information from our maintenance management system, you'll perform scheduled maintenance and fault rectification on our fleet of turbines, ensuring they are operating at their optimum capacity. Along with other members of the team, you'll deliver wind turbine maintenance for SSE Renewable Operations driven by four key performance measures, SHE, Capability, Quality and Cost.

A minimum of NC or SVQ Level 3 in a Mechanical/Electrical discipline or equivalent, or to have served a recognised apprenticeship.

- Demonstrable experience of servicing, fault finding and repairing of Wind Turbine Generators or similar experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy plant.

- A current GWO basic training certification would be highly beneficial but training will be provided.

- A strong understanding and demonstrable passion for safety at all times.

To ensure the site is operating efficiently throughout the year, you may be expected to participate in a scheduled standby rota. If you do participate, it is expected you would be required one week in four. Additional payments relating to this will be available.

Due to the nature of the role and having safety in mind at all times, the position will be site based at the Wind Farm and the successful candidate must reside or being willing to reside within a 45 minute commuting distance to Griffin Wind Farm to take up the position.

SSE has big ambitions to be a leading energy company in a low carbon world. Following our commitment to invest £20.5 billion in low carbon projects to 2027, we have significant growth plans and are well on our way to achieving our ambition to build a world that's more sustainable and inclusive for you, your family, the community you live in and for generations to come. We are proud to be playing a critical role in the net zero transition, as we aim to more than treble the net capacity in operation to 13GW and grow renewable energy output five-fold to over 50TWh over the next 10 years.

We offer an excellent package with 34 days annual leave entitlement. Enhanced maternity/paternity leave, discounted healthcare, salary sacrifice car leasing and much more, view our full benefits package on our careers site.
