Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Area Team Manager to join our team at Wincanton, based at our brand-new shared user facility in Scotland. Responsible for directing and motivating a team to maintain and improve the production process currently in place.,

  • Responsible for all Health and Safety on site and ensuring full compliance with company policies and legislation.

  • Delivering against targets within the agreed budget.

  • Ensuring the development of the team to meet current and future operational needs.

  • Able to demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical capabilities and conduct deep dive analysis of complex processes.

  • Actively involve support functions and work collaboratively across departments to reach and exceed warehouse goals and objectives.

  • Commit to continuous improvement of the operation, striving for increased efficiency and productivity.

  • Work with the team to develop a positive and engaged workforce.

  • Ensure site adherence to all Wincanton policies and procedures.

  • Manage and maintain accurate process flows, work instructions and quality documents.

  • Ensure effective communication throughout the operation, communicating planned requirements, providing information on performance, procedures and company updates.

  • Compiling reports for internal stakeholders and the customer as required, including but not limited to KPI performance.

  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with all stakeholders on site.

  • Plan workload/volumes and utilise labour resource to exceed customer expectations.

  • Focus on KPI's such as cost, quality and service and effectively deploy resource to support the achievement of these.

  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop team members.

  • Support in investigation and disciplinary meetings where necessary.

  • Managing appropriate conversations with challenging team members.

  • Complete mid-year and end of year reviews with all team members, setting goals and expectations and implementing plans to achieve them.

    Demonstrated experience in a warehouse management role responsible for a large team of direct reports.

  • Strong people skills with the ability to motivate a team and manage difficult conversations where necessary.

  • Organised and structured with a proactive and flexible approach.

  • Strong attention to detail due to the nature of the customer and products we work with.

  • PC literate with a good understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong communication skills at all stakeholder levels.

  • High level of self-awareness and takes accountability for own development.

  • Able to manage Equality and Diversity issues and creates a culture of respect and "Dignity at Work" for all.

  • Demonstrable exemplary customer relationship management skills with the flexibility in style, approach to manage several clients with varying requirements at the same time.
