Full Job Description

We are recruiting a commercially astute Operations Manager based in our East Region. You will have day to day responsibility for motivating and overseeing a large team across the region. Delivery of sustainable land management outcomes at scale will also depend on you having a strong influence over our suppliers through careful budget, relationship and contract management. These roles are also fast moving and will require you to be closely engaged with our customers and stakeholders to make well informed decisions under pressure and in a way that delivers results and prioritises safety in all that we do.

What you will do

The Operations Manager plays a key leadership role within the Region. Being commercially aware they will oversee key programmes in timber marketing and harvesting, woodland creation, restocking and silviculture, civil engineering, and environmental programmes including the effective management of wild deer. You will also contribute to supporting and enabling renewable energy programmes and addressing statutory plant health notices.

You will play a key role in business planning, contributing to the development of a strategic approach which allows us to develop and then implement a sustainable and resilient future

model for our business.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 70 people. You will also contribute to the Regional Leadership Team and will connect, contribute to and promote a one team culture both in Region and with National Teams.
