Full Job Description

Salary: 22K Pro Rata

Possible permanent employment after maternity cover

Start time: 8am

Pentland Biomass is a renewable company based in Loanhead. This is a division of Pentland Plants, a family business that grows bedding plant plugs for professional growers and parks departments throughout the UK.

We are looking for a part-time administrator who will thrive in a fast-paced setting, enjoy interacting with customers, and be committed to delivering exceptional service. This is an exciting position for a confident candidate with strong organisational and communicative skills and attention to detail.


Role Responsibilities

· Responsible for all email, e-commerce, and telephone enquiries.

· Planning and coordinating our two delivery vans

· Inputting weekly staff timesheets

· Processing sales invoices

· Coordinating ongoing and recurring vehicle maintenance

· Drivers’ timesheets

· General office admin support and maintenance, e.g. petty cash reconciliation, stock tracking, etc.

· Social media admin

· Any other duties that may be required within the larger company, Pentland Plants, or its Divisions.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed for the Role

· Strong organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritise own work activities.

· Good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

· Good numeracy skills

· Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail

· Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 2/3, ONC or equivalent), or school education to Standard Grade or equivalent

· Typically, 3 years relevant work experience

· Knowledge and understanding of accounts systems, ideally Xero package.

· Understanding of sales and purchase accounts

· Full range of administrative and computing skills with proven competence in commonly used IT applications including word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), databases, and email
