As a key player in the AXA Insurance People Leadership team, we're looking for a People Projects & Transformation Lead to join us on our journey. You'll ultimately have overall accountability for delivering projects that will directly enable our people and business strategy. You'll not do this alone, responsible for managing a team of highly effective People consultants, a large part of this role is actively leading this team. An exciting opportunity to lead on people impact initiatives within Business Transformation reporting directly to the People Director for AXA Insurance.

You'll be responsible for delivering the portfolio of People projects enabling the People and Business strategy, including the people impact of Business Transformation. The projects will be varied from large organisation design and change, to continuing to improve our people's engagement, developing our culture, to talent and capability projects and progressing our diversity and inclusion aspirations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work alongside the People Director and the AXA Insurance People Leadership Team, to define and shape the People strategy and lead a plan to deliver it.

  • Work with theme leads to ensure resource is prioritised and aligned, progress is tracked and reported, and stakeholders are kept engaged and up to date.

  • Build close and effective relationships with the People Team Centre of Excellence to secure their expertise to deliver the portfolio of People projects. Ensure measures of success are in place and tracked.

  • Accountable for the governance of all projects, including restructures, and simplification of said governance.

  • Act as deputy for People Director in a project and transformation capacity at ExCom, Change Boards, Programme meetings etc.

  • Work closely with Internal Communications to ensure we are talking about all People initiatives and change consistently, in the right ways, and inspiring people to come on the journey with us.

  • Develop an effective partnership with ExCom, specifically the key leaders of change such as the COOs and the Transformation and Strategy Directors.

  • Provide strategic Organisation Design (OD) thought leadership and direction on priority, consistency and quality of people deliverables that facilitates the delivery of the transformation agenda.

  • Increase the capability in the People Consultant team to scope and deliver projects, using project and/or Agile methodology, allocating projects and initiatives that will provide stretch or development opportunities.

    Understanding of business context including external context in order that projects in stack create measurable business value. Analysing financial performance and identify people initiatives which drive commercial value to the business.

  • Ability to understand the people context; within the business, within the wider group (including the people strategy) and externally. Understand people levers available through experience and understanding of HR, connection to the rest of the People Team and the skills to deploy these skills. Background in multiple areas of HR.

  • Experienced People Programme and/or Project Manager. Knowledge of change and project management methodologies with experience of applying them in a pragmatic way to fit the needs of the organisation.

  • Significant Organisation Design and Change experience.

  • Experience of leading teams to deliver organisational change e.g. mergers and acquisitions, integration programmes, change management, organisational design in large organisations.

  • Demonstrates significant strategic leadership capability with values that align to AXA's culture. Ability to operate effectively in a complex and ambiguous environment.

  • A track record of working beyond your own business area to engage others, share best practice and deliver through others.

  • Highly resilient with the ability to coach and challenge senior stakeholders on complex and business critical decisions.

  • Strong financial understanding and able to analyse and interpret complex business cases to identify the true value to the business.

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to tell change stories in a way that makes change accessible to all audiences across the business.

  • Strong data and analytical capability - able to spot underlying root causes of issues and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

  • Experience of driving transformation within financial services is preferred.
