Planning Student Internship (Development Planning) (Fixed Term)

Dumfries

£22,713 - £22,827

 

Dumfries and Galloway Council are providing an opportunity for a student to gain valuable work experience in planning.

 

Based in Dumfries, the post holder will work within the Development Planning team. This team prepares, delivers and monitors the Local Development Plan, Supplementary Guidance and other policy planning work. We are looking to employ a student for a 12 week period to undertake survey, monitoring and analysis work across a range of sites across the region.

 

You must be studying towards a degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Design, Environmental Science or comparable discipline. An understanding of the planning system in Scotland, geographical information systems and previous planning work experience would be desirable.

 

You must have a good standard of written and spoken English, have computing skills, be able to prioritise and manage your time properly and work well as part of a team.

 

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
