Full Job Description

We're looking for a Team Leader in our Intensive Support Service. The Intensive Support Service offers support to young people at risk of their home placement breaking down, and/or at risk of meeting the criteria for secure accommodation. The service supports Young Peoples transitions back to the local authority area from out of authority placements and secure care.

About the services

Our Gael Og services provide a wide range of support services for children, young people, their families and adults in the Highlands, including advisory services, services that focus on encouraging young people to take part in sport and healthy activities, mentoring - one-to-one support for young people experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol, intensive support and guidance to extremely vulnerable young people, support to young people and families who are experiencing exploitation and fostering services for children who cannot live with their birth families.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

Some key responsibilities for the role are: -

  • Responsible for assessments, care planning and reviewing of the young people referred to the service.

  • Identify any local resources, community supports including Education, Training providers and Employers to create opportunities on a needs led basis.

  • Preparing written reports to contribute to the wider Childs Plan, and to present these details at multi-agency meeting's, representing the organisation and supporting the family.

  • Working closely and professionally with partner agencies to deliver services that offer the most appropriate and beneficial support to Children, Young People, and their Families, contributing to more successful outcomes.

  • Attend relevant multi-agency meetings and promote the Intensive Support Service to external partners and agencies to raise the profile.

    Level 4 Management qualification (or a willingness to work toward) or substantial experience of line managing staff and/or a specific project/programme.

  • Significant post qualification experience of working with children, young people and or families in a multi-agency environment and achieving positive outcomes through intervention.

  • Advanced experience of chairing, supporting, and contributing to service planning meetings.

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft outlook packages i.e. word, email etc.
