Full Job Description

Deanston Cooper's client is a highly successful civil engineering contractor which has a great reputation for looking after their employees and as such has an extremely low level of staff turnover. Due recent long-term framework awards they are currently looking to recruit a Pre-construction Project Coordinator to join their team. The role will be based out of their Glasgow office although flexible working arrangements are available. 


As a Pre-Construction Project Coordinator, you will deliver the development / optioneering of Scottish Water projects from identification of need to construction contract award. Agreeing and Co-ordinating the deliverables for each project in a timely manner to achieve agreed goals.


Reporting to the Preconstruction Manager you will manage and deliver all preconstruction activities in relation to Scottish Water projects including:


  • Coordinating workload to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Managing design development projects within allotted timelines and budgets
  • Driving efficiency into every project taking cognisance of carbon reduction
  • Assisting in developing cost-effective solutions
  • Reviewing design risk assessments
  • Producing scope documentation in a timely manner
  • Proposing and/or developing value engineered alternative solutions during design phase
  • Developing methods for complex or unusual projects
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, team members to achieve project goals

Applications for the role of Pre-Construction Project Coordinator are welcome from candidates who:


  • Are qualified to a minimum level of HNC in Civil Engineering
  • Have a minimum of 3 years site experience
  • Are currently working at Senior Engineer, Sub Agent or Site Agent level
  • Have significant experience within the civil engineering sector
  • Ideally have some previous Scottish Water experience
  • Have a thorough knowledge of engineering management, construction processes
