Requirements

You will have an appropriate Degree (SCQF Level 9), or equivalent, in a relevant subject area or relevant working experience.

Responsibilities

You will lead the Company Engagement and Investment Unit within the Economic Growth Team. You will be responsible for establishing effective relationships with key companies in Dundee and the development of pro-active approaches to attract inward investment. In developing and delivering key projects that support economic growth, entrepreneurship and drive innovation, you will act as the lead for companies interested in establishing and growing in Dundee along with developing and delivering programmes of business support for companies and in support of key industry sectors in the City and across Tay Cities Region.

The Individual

You will have experience of managing and developing staff and undertaking company engagement and support, together with a proven track record of successful project management and effective budget management. With an awareness of, and sensitivity to, the political environment locally, regionally and nationally, you will have experience of successful partnership working and networking with key stakeholders, as well as experience of presenting information through a variety of styles, and knowledge of relevant local/national strategies, policies and/or funding programmes. You will have the ability to identify key issues and principles, and be able to display a creative and innovative approach to problem solving together with identifying relationships and potential synergies between complex, inter-dependent factors. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, and have excellent IT skills using current software. Additionally, you will be able to operate effectively within local government and with national partners, along with being comfortable and effective, in a representational role. With a flexible approach, you will have the ability to work outside normal working hours as required.
